It was a scary couple of days. I couldn’t figure out what had happened to my blog and then once it came back up I was missing 12 weeks worth of posts. Thankfully everything is back to normal. I even had a chance to tweak a couple of minor things on the site as well.
It has been a wild summer. I have barely had a moment to breathe or to sit and reflect on everything that has happened. I think that has been the only negative aspect of my hectic summer. Next year I might have to build in reflection days to my summer schedule.
We just returned from a few days in Chicago. We had a wonderful time in the Windy City. I got a chance to take my wife, my sister-in-law, and her husband to see Wicked. I had seen it on Broadway last year but none of them had been able to see it. It was superb! I thought the singing was even better than what I had seen in New York. Kudos to the Chicago cast for a terrific job.
When we arrived home I had a box from Amazon waiting on our doorstep. It contained two of my fall reading books: Jesus Mean and Wild and Questions to All Your Answers. I will start them here in the next few weeks. If anyone wants to read along with me let me know.
Tomorrow is our anniversary. We have been married for 6 years. I can hardly believe it but it is true. Hopefully we can hang on at least another 6 years. It won’t be so hard for me- I’m married to a saint. She has her hands full though.
Have a great weekend.
I can’t believe you’ve been married six years! Congrats! I also want to say thank you even though you are not a youth minister at our church. My husband and I were discussing how difficult youth ministry has to be. We both have been youth interns and have just tasted the difficulties of the job. For all parents and future parents, thank you for the guidance you and your wife give to the youth in our world.
